Keeping one subject consistent across a set

A set falls apart when every image is a new person. The fix is to fix the identity first and vary everything else deliberately, one variable at a time.

Save the subject

Lock the identity before you start varying the shot.

  • ['Save from a render', 'Any generation you like becomes a reusable identity you can apply to later shots.']
  • ['Apply, then direct', 'The identity is applied after the scene composition, so the face carries and the setting still changes.']

Change one variable at a time

Consistency is a discipline, not a setting.

  • ['Setting only', 'Same subject, same wardrobe, different room reads as one shoot in several locations.']
  • ['Framing only', 'Same subject and setting at three camera distances gives a layout hero, mid and detail crops.']
  • ['Keep the light', 'Changing light direction between images is what most often breaks the illusion of a single session.']

Common questions

Will the face be identical?

Close, not pixel-identical. It will read as the same person, which is what a set needs.

Can I use the same subject across campaigns?

Yes. A saved identity persists in your account.
